The Solution to Ingesting Toxins Daily

There are many toxins in our modern society that can negatively affect our health - air pollutants, processed foods, white flour, artificial sweeteners and preservatives, impurities in our drinking water, microwaves, power lines, new carpets, building materials, negative thoughts, and stress from being around toxic people, to name just a few.

Unless you move to a backwater somewhere, far from any towns, and live organically, you cannot help but ingest all these poisons.

Vary Your Juices on a Juice Detox

You will be less likely to become bored with your juice detox, if you make a variety of juices, and much more likely to receive a balanced amount of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin supplements shouldn’t be necessary during your detox, as you will be consuming lots of fresh natural vitamins.

Be sure to drink at least eight large table glasses of water every day, spread out evenly throughout the day.

Drink as much juice as you like, as long as you drink a variety of juices. Your body needs well-rounded nutrition, so you should be careful to drink a large variety of juices and not concentrate on one type such as citrus only juices. Tasty,Quick and Easy Meals

As a single, working mum, I learnt how to prepare and serve up a meal within 30 minutes tops, mostly 20 minutes. Preparing fresh foods takes a little more planning than instant meals, however, the rewards are well worth it.

While I love cooking, I don’t have the patience or the time to spend on complicated recipes, and I find the effort isn’t worth it anyway. ( I can hear the chefs out there groaning!).

I leave the complicated recipes to the chefs, when I go to a restaurant. At home, I just want to make something that's quick, easy and tasty. All the recipes in the Amazing Diet I wrote and used, are exactly that. Plus they are all detox receipes to continue eliminating the toxins we come into contact with each day.

My supermarket trolley

Whenever I go to the supermarket, I see most people with their trolleys laden with processed foods, with bottled juices, packets and tins of all sorts. Blatant advertising on the labels (and on the TV commercials) proclaim an item’s health properties, how good it is for you. If you look closely enough, like in the fineprint on a legal contract, you’ll see the ingredients – the good stuff, plus all the bad stuff - food additives, colourings, preservatives.

These are toxins, and are accumulating in your body. Children are ingesting these also.


Don’t eat these foods! Don’t support an industry that is slowly killing us and making us sick. Even though we are being taught about the inherent dangers, processed foods are still being consumed by the millions of tons. They have become acceptable to everyone, and no wonder - they’re quick to prepare, they taste good, the kids will eat them.

We desperately need an alternative, a replacement diet that will also taste good, and is quick to prepare. That’s exactly what the Amazing Diet is.

When I go to the supermarket, it is to buy things like washing powder, light globes, fruit and vegies, rice, grains, dried fruit and nuts. No packets, no tins, no frozen meals, no jars. Big difference to ‘normal’ supermarket trolleys, and a big difference in my health!

Processed Foods are Slowly Killing Us

Most modern humans live on a diet of yummy fatty food that has been highly processed. Those cakes and cookies, that toasted white bread, those deep fried fast foods, processed meats, and most canned and packaged foods all contribute, over the years, to setting the stage for chronic conditions such as arthritis and/or other serious illness, such as cancer.

These processed foods, while containing food additives and chemicals that accumulate in our systems to increase our level of toxicity, are dangerous in another way.

Processed foods are eaten instead of the high amounts of fruits, vegetables and natural foods we should be eating to maintain optimum health. Yes, we can supplement our diet with salads, vegetables fruit or multi-vitamins, however, most people do not consume their daily nutritional needs with just this.

It is far better to consume only natural foods, and ditch the processed foods altogether.

What! I hear you say. How can I do that? Much too difficult. Trust me on this – once you have eliminated a lot of toxins and the chemicals contained in processed foods that keep you addicted to them with a detox, it is easy to keep clear of processed foods. Your body just doesn’t want or crave them anymore. Drinking your fruits and vegetables by juicing them means you can consume far more in a day than by eating them, so your nutritional needs are well met.

The juice detox that I advocate is quick, only a couple of days, and already you’ll feel the difference.

Types of Toxins

OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) defines a hazardous chemical as any chemical that is a physical or a health hazard (CFR 1910.1200). Many chemicals can cause toxic effects in the body. Below are some classes of toxic chemicals.

Irritants are noncorrosive chemicals that cause reversible inflammatory effects (swelling and redness) on living tissue by chemical action at the site of contact. Because a wide variety of organic and inorganic chemicals are irritants, skin and eye contact with all chemicals in the laboratory should be avoided.


Corrosive substances are solids, liquids, and gases that cause destruction of living tissue by chemical action at the site of contact.


Allergens are substances which cause an adverse reaction by the immune system. As these reactions result from previous sensitization from the substance or similar substance, chemical allergens will be different for each person.

Asphyxiants are substances that interfere with the transport of an adequate supply of oxygen to the vital organs of the body. They can do this by either displacing oxygen from the air or by combining with hemoglobin and thus reducing the blood’s ability to transport oxygen.

Carcinogens are cancer-causing substances listed in the Annual Report on Carcinogens. Many substances known or suspected to be carcinogenic are still found to be in high school laboratories. There is little reason for most of them to be there; they should be disposed of as quickly as possible.


Reproductive & developmental toxins (teratogens and mutagens) either have an adverse effect on the various aspects of reproduction (fertility, gestation, lactation and general reproductive performance) or act during pregnancy to cause adverse effects on the embryo or fetus.


Neurotoxins induce an adverse effect on the structure or function of the central and/or peripheral nervous system. These effects can be permanent or reversible. Toxins affecting other organs can also be a hazard. Most of the chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic compounds, some metals, carbon monoxide, cyanides, and others can produce one or more effects on target organs in the body.

Why Do We get Fevers

Fevers are the body’s way of letting us know that something is wrong. They are also the body’s way of combating viruses and infection. Normal body temperature is around 98.6°F (37°C). If the body has a fever, temperature will steadily rise higher than this.

When infections invade the body’s system, toxins are produced. This usually results in a temperature rise. The response by the body is to activate the immune system. White blood cells combat bacteria by raising the temperature.

White blood cells produce certain substances that raise the temperature, since toxins do not have a very good tolerance to heat. Therefore, fevers help fight these toxins and eliminate them from he body. When we sweat, we are expelling toxins from the body.

US fast-food chains sued over carcinogenic chicken

A US doctors' group has sued seven leading fast-food chains including McDonald's and Burger King over their use of a "dangerous carcinogenic" in grilled chicken.

The Washington-based Physicians Committee forResponsible Medicine (PCRM) filed suit in California on Thursday "to compel the restaurants to warn unsuspecting consumers".The group said every sample of grilled chicken products from the seven national chains "tested positive for a dangerous carcinogenic compound called PhIP" during analysis at an independent laboratory.

PhIP is one of a group of carcinogenic compounds called heterocyclic amines (HCAs) that are found in grilled meat. In 2005, the US government officially added HCAs to its list of cancer-causing agents, the doctors' group said. "Grilled chicken can cause cancer, and consumers deserve to know that this supposedly healthy productis actually just as bad for them as high-fat fried chicken," PCRM president Neal Barnard said in a statement. "Even a grilled chicken salad increases the risk of breast cancer, prostate cancer and other forms of this lethal disease," he said.

Aside from McDonald's and Burger King, the chains named in the lawsuit were Chick-fil-A, Chili's, Applebee's, Outback Steakhouse and TGI Friday's.
